{ thankful }

There is always

Don’t you agree?  I have always been a “glass is half full” kind of girl.  It helps when your mom played Zig Ziglar motivational tapes in the Lincoln Town Car growing up.  I can always find something to be thankful for and this weekend it was the cold front.   I don’t know about y’all but this weekend gave me the first glimpse that summer is on it’s way out (finally) and I for one am ready!

I was not ready, however, when the cold front blew in when we took Ford out to Salt Lick for the first time on Saturday.  Brrr!  If you haven’t been to the “Kids Ranch” and you have kids then you are missing out!  We had a friend in town and were hesitant to take him because we weren’t sure how we would keep him entertained around his bedtime but decided to go for it.  Once we got out there I was blown away by this “Kids Ranch”.  There are two playscapes, a huge sandbox, picnic tables, and a field where the big kids were throwing the football.  I noticed a lot of families were opting to order take out and just eat out there.  Genius!  He had a blast and it all worked out.  It was a great reminder for me that I need to be better about winging it.  I still admittedly get nervous about the dreaded meltdown at a restaurant and so we tend to stay close to home (check please!).  I need to get over it.  I am beginning to appreciate that like every stage this this is just part of the deal and I will (I mean he will) survive if he cries in a restaurant or misses a nap.  The planner in me will probably continue to pick kid friendly places and keep the PBS app on hand but in the meantime I am going to try and be more flexible!

I’d love to hear your restaurant tricks with your little ones and what YOU are feeling thankful for?

I hope you have a fabulous week!
