BEHIND THE SCENES: HOLIDAY UPDO

I am so excited to finally share this quick little updo that I created for Austin blogger Hilary Rose.  She is just gorgeous and she has a TON of hair.  We started out by simply wrapping her hair around a 3/4 inch barrel curling iron (full tutorial here) and then just a few steps later it was up and out of her way.  Perfect for a holiday party and easy enough to do in the office ladies room before a night on the town!

What do you think?  Is this something you would try out?

STEP ONE

Once your hair is curled.  Create a low ponytail and then loop it over itself (anyone remember topsy tail?).  How curled is up to you – the more curls the more texture and the more difficult the look appears (shhh!).

STEP TWO

Tease the ponytail to create even more texture and separate into three even sections.  Create a loose bun starting in the middle and secure with bobby pins.  Repeat on each side.  Don’t over think this…the messier the better!Hilary Rose Holiday Updo Step Two

STEP THREE

Check the front and allow any face framing layers to fall out.  Voila you are ready to hit the town!
